Biologic Therapy

Our physicians at OhioHealth Arthritis and Osteoporosis Physicians, formerly Grant Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center, are experts in rheumatoid arthritis care and will your partner in your individualized diagnosis and treatment plan.

One of the most important advances in treating rheumatic diseases has been the development of a group of drugs called biologic response modifiers or biologics. Biologics are genetically engineered proteins. They inhibit the specific parts of the immune system that help to fuel inflammation, a key feature of rheumatoid arthritis, gout and other conditions. Biologics are given either by injection or by IV infusion.
